Augusta Urban Ministries
Augusta Urban Ministries provides a ministry to the urban area of Augusta. Through outreach programs like their annual White Christmas and periodic food drives, furniture bank, transitional housing, and Kid's Connection, Augusta Urban Ministries is able to reach hundreds of men, women, and children annually with the compassion and love of Jesus Christ.

Wesley Fellowship and Foundation
The campuses of Paine College and Augusta State University provide the setting for great student ministry. The Augusta District continues to provide innovative leadership by forming a joint board to oversee the activities of each group. The two student bodies are engaged in ministry to their respective campuses as well as ministry with each other.

White Oak Campground
The White Oak Camp Ground was established in 1820 for the purpose of the Augusta District United Methodist Church Camp Meetings. United Methodists have worshipped here for over 200 years. Bishop Asbury, during his travels through Georgia, is said to have preached to a crowd of more than 8,000 people during the summer of 1820.

Summer camp meeting is held the last full week in June, featuring an 11:00 am service with a local preacher and an 8:00 pm service with a visiting preacher.  Special music provided by the visiting song leader and area church choirs.
White Oak Camp Ground also holds a three day long spring camp meeting during the third weekend in April and a three day long fall camp meeting during the second weekend in October of every year. These three day long weekends plan for a Friday night service, Saturday morning and night service and a Sunday morning worship service.

White Oak Camp Ground features a swimming pool, playground and nature trail for visitors to enjoy.  This relaxing country atmosphere welcomes campers all year long.  Several campsites are available for a small per night fee.  Water, electricity, and sewer connection are included in the camp space fee. The swimming pool is open to the community through the purchase of a summer long pass or a daily pass if you choose. Just seven miles from the town of Thomson, Georgia and 30 minutes from historic downtown Augusta gives visitors many options for dining out and site seeking.   The 100 seat dining hall, heated and air conditioned, is available to rent for family reunions, birthday parties, and other family oriented activities.
White Oak Campground is governed by a 15 member board of trustees.  For more information about White Oak Camp Ground,  please call (706) 595-1837 or (706) 651-6139.

The campaign is needed to ensure for the future that older adults who need it will have a higher quality of life. The moneys raised will be used for charitable care, renovations of buildings and pastoral care. To find out more information take a look at www.emoryhealthcare.org.

Other Missions

Child Evangelism—We will go into schools to present the gospel of Jesus through stories, puppets, skits, drama and music. We will share our hope and trust in Christ with the children and teachers in Haiti.

Small Projects—Many of the schools and churches have a great need for desks and pews. We may be involved in small building projects that will help meet needs in the classrooms and in the churches by constructing desks and pews for some of these facilities.

Delivery of Kits—Churches in the Augusta District will be making and filling school bags for the children, sewing kits for the ladies, and dressing kits with first aid supplies. Your church or group may want to take on one of these projects. Our mission team will be delivering these kits for distribution to the children and their families.

Haitian Bibles—Our team will deliver Haitian Bibles which use the Creole language. You may want to help purchase these Bibles for delivery to the churches.
