Gary Dean, District Superintendent

Gary Dean, a native of Paris, Texas is married to Pamela, also of Paris, Texas.  They have two sons.  Anthony is a freshman at LeGrange College and William a fifth grader at Greenbriar Elementary School in Columbia County. 

Gary has served for 26 years either as a student pastor or a full-time pastor in the United Methodist Church.  Raised in Mt. Zion UMC, Paris, Texas, he continues to attribute his upbringing at Mt. Zion to his success in ministry.  He received a Bachelors Degree in Education from Wiley College, Marshall, Texas.  He also attended Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University before receiving his Masters of Divinity from The Gammon Theological Seminary of the Interdenominational Theological Center of Atlanta in 1992.

Gary enjoys family, preaching/pastoring and sports.

He was appointed District Superintendent of the Augusta District in 2005.  Gary says the Augusta District is the right place at the right time for him at this point in his ministry.

Gary serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees at Paine College in Augusta, Board of Directors of the Simpsonwood Conference and Retreat Center for North Georgia, Board of Managers for Georgia Pastors School, and Chaplain of the Uptown Kiwanis Club of Augusta.  He has served on the Board of Trustees for both Gammon Theological Seminary and the Interdenominational Theological Center of Atlanta.

Lynn W. Creech, District Secretary

Lynn West Creech has served as District Secretary since 1998. Lynn and her husband Lloyd live in North Augusta, South Carolina. They have 1 son, Michael.

Employed in the mortgage business prior to joining the Augusta District in 1998, she acts as liaison between the churches and the Augusta District, in addition to assisting in the organizing and orchestrating of events within the Augusta District.

A member of the Professional Association of the United Methodist Church Secretaries (PAUMCS), she is on the executive committee team.  Lynn was selected the 2005 PAUMCS Secretary of the year.

An active member of First Baptist Church in North Augusta, she is president of the Sisters in Faith Sunday school class.
